Are you tougher than your ancestors?

NEW YEAR HISTORY TV SERIES FROM THE ACTF!

Are You Tougher Than Your Ancestors?

A fun and immersive living history series that pits the skills of today’s kids against the exploits of children from Australia’s past, to find out how they measure up!

Fun and fast paced, we challenge modern kids to walk in the shoes of a child from another era. Diving into new worlds, they learn as much about themselves as they do about history… and unearth some unexpected skills in the process!

While not the focus of this resource, teachers could also draw links to English, Civics and Citizenship, Geography and the general capabilities when viewing the series.

The full 10 x 24 minute episodes can be found in Connect at this link:

The GiST – Girls in STEM

Classroom strategies for inclusive STEM learning environments.

Building a diverse science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce is critical for economic growth and prosperity, with STEM-skilled jobs growing 1.5 times faster than any other job sector (Australian Academy of Science, 2019). However, globally, only 35% of students enrolled in STEM are women (UNESCO, 2017) and only 16% of women make up the STEM-skilled workforce in Australia (Australian Academy of Science, 2019).
